THE NORTH MARKET is a site that explores the mind.

We think that the information we really need is not in the outside world, but in our minds.

In this world where so much information overflows, we want to convey universal information that is truly useful to people in an easy-to-understand way. Like a marketplace where people regularly gather in search of something, we aim to create this site that provides truth information.

What is the body made of?

It has been said since the time of the ancient Greeks that the human body is made up of four elements: earth (weight), water (cohesion), fire (heat), and air (movement).

The causes of these four substances are “food, environment, present mental reactions, and past mental reactions.

The Age of Air

The 220-year-long Earth Age ended and the Air Age began after the winter of 2020.

In the age of Earth, which is a fixed substance, “visible material wealth” was sought after. In the age of Air, which is free-moving, “the value of the invisible increases” and is sought after.

Air is an element that can both stir up and control fire.

The purpose of this site is to help you become aware of the “flow of the universe = the laws of nature” without being bound by “existing worldviews” and to acquire the ability to self-care for your own mind and body.

Do you think it is a coincidence that you visited this site?

We believe it is inevitable.

We hope to share with you information that is sought after and trusted by others, so that it does not become mere self-expression or an obsession.

Thank you in advance.

Dhammapada

The Dhammapada is a collection of sayings of the Buddha in verse form, it is universal truth.

In Pali, dhamma means “truth“. Truth is the law of nature and the teachings of Buddha. Pada means “steps“. Dhamma and pada together mean “steps in truth”,”path of the Buddha’s teachings”.

All of these words of wisdom are universal and useful to anyone who reads them, regardless of religion or denomination. We have translated them into modern and daily language from the perspective of a meditator, not a Buddhist, so that they may help you live better in your daily life.

The translation on this site is based on the Pali original: “Tipitaka (Pali Canon)”  the 1958 Sixth Buddhist Council version (in Burma).

About

We are not Buddhists, but meditation practitioners, living in Japan.

Meditation

Meditation is a self-care practice that can be done alone, anytime, anywhere. Moreover, it is possible to take care of not only the mind but also the body at the same time. It does not cost any money.

We incorporate meditation into our daily life as a “art of living” to age peacefully and healthily. We are sharing the truth of universe that we have confirmed through meditation on this website.

When we become aware that we are one of the parts of the universe, away from the rules and logic of society, there are still many ways to live differently in the universe than before. Meditation gave us the opportunity to become aware of this.

Why NORTH ?

In Indian philosophy, the north is thought to contain wisdom.
When the Buddha died, he turned his head to the north.

On the earth, East and West are relative positions, but North and South are absolute positions. We hope to be a site that is absolutely reliable when you are lost, without such blurring.

Our Purpose

Helpful to others simply.

We have created this website with the intention of simply and directly accepting the truth of universe without any religious, organizational or social elements.

May all living things be happy!
